Combined Cell - Max Lucado's "Outlive Your Life"
In the last quarter of 2011, all our cell groups met at church at 7 pm on Wednesday evenings to enjoy going through Max Lucado's "Outlive Your Life" course together.
Max Lucado on why he created the "Outlive Your Life" book and DVD course:
"It started with three questions. I heard them about four or five years ago and I’m still reeling from them. The first question came from a fellow, just out of curiosity, who said if you’d been a German pastor during the Nazi occupation, would you have taken a stand against Adolf Hitler? Then someone asked me a similar question just two or three weeks later. They said if you had been a pastor in the Deep South during the Civil Rights movement would you have taken a stand against racism? Another good question, but I didn’t live in the South during the Civil Rights movement. I certainly didn’t live in Germany during World War 2. That’s why the third question was really powerful. The person said, when your children and grandchildren learn that you lived in a day in which three billion people were desperately poor and a billion people were hungry, what would they think of your response to this crisis? Now that’s a good question. All of us have an opportunity now to do something to set a great example for our children and our grandchildren. That’s why I wrote Outlive Your Life. We are created by a great God to do great works. He invites us to outlive our lives, not just in heaven but here on earth". More here... Hobbies day - Saturday 13th of August...
We had our annual Hobbies Day on Saturday 13th of August.
This was an opportunity to come and share your hobby and/or see everyone else's hobbies! Previous Hobby Days have seen people sharing their passion for line dancing, vintage cars, sailing, Pilates, painting, baking, scrapbooking, motorbiking, microlites, bridge, making clothes, chess, drums, reading, surfing, hockey, and more... See you there!

A good time was had by all at our recent Games Evening at church.
Our Games Evenings are a chance for everyone including your whole family, young and old, to come and have fun playing a variety of games together.
Newcomer's Lunch
Our Newcomer's Lunch in April was a great time for newcomers and folk who are just "trying out" our church to get to know us better.
For more photos and details of the lunch please see our News section.
If you would like to attend a future lunch please email Andre Vercueil. Sunday School Camp
Our children had a wonderful time at the Sunday School camp!
For more photos and details of the camp please see our News section.
Photos of the camp are available at the Sound Desk. Please respect other's privacy by not posting any of these photos on the Internet. Alpha Courses
We regularly run Alpha Courses in our church, including recently an Alpha course for our Teens.
Alpha Courses are a relaxed way to meet other people and learn about the Christian faith. Everyone shares a meal together on a Tuesday night and then we watch one of the famous Alpha Course videos by Nicky Gumbel and spend some time discussing the subject. The course is open to everyone, not just believers or members of church. Interested? There is more information on our Alpha Courses page. |
